Possibly one of the best bands I’ve seen live, not just because of how good they sound but because they were so engaging with the audience and what should have been a 1.5 hour gig turned out to be a 2.5 hour performance – what a lovely midweek treat!

72 hours in Saigon

We’re back from the training in Saigon – was flat out as sleep was a luxury but everything else made up for it.

A lot of pho, taste good. It’s like our ‘kway teow fishball soup’ but with chicken/beef and lime.

Ordered coconuts (of course) – noticed how they stick the spoon on it..

Day out in Versailles

Cycling through the magnificent gardens and strolling along the palace grounds of Versailles – a city half an hour train ride west from the center of Paris, known for its palace (Château de Versailles) and its meticulously manicured renowned French garden which inspired many others in the world. Turned out to be a delightful day trip!

An English bookstore in Paris

Chanced upon this bookstore Shakespeare and Company (opened since 1950s) which has since grown into an institution on the Left Bank of Paris, just opposite Notre Dame.

What a find.

A tiny Japanese restaurant in Abbesses with only 20 or so seats around the bar where food was prepared. Beautiful presentation of the food and good atmosphere + service to boot.
